I buy a wii
After two weeks of reflection, I finally made my decision. I want to buy a wii. I was looking for the good and the bad side of this console. My friend already got one since last year. I borrow his console for week. The wii console his fun but the whole fun come from when you play with your friends. This is a real party maker.
The good side of the wii:
- It comes with the wii sports games… I mean a free fun games pack. Only with this game, you can have so much fun!
- The console is easy to understand… you grab it and you play. That’s the way it should be
- The wii is a real party maker: even my mom like it. She loves it because the console makes her move. You need to play to understand that a console can make you sweat.
The bad side of the wii:
- Wii do not have any DVD playback or CD playback. This is not a bad thing. I already got my DVD player and my audio system. The wii aim one goal: have fun.
- The wii do not have advanced graphic like Xbox 360 or ps3. When I was playing, those aspects were not important at all.
- Wii eats batteries. That was a hard moment. When I was winning in tennis game by remote controller had no juice. Do not be a hardcore player and take breaks and you must have a batteries charger.
There are many good and bad things about the wii but at the end of the day, this is the perfect tool to bring people together. The wii is not as powerful as PS3 or xbox360 but it is cheaper and really give you a new feel about console gaming.
I will not buy a PS3 or Xbox360 now because I do not know who will win between blu-ray and HD DVD.
I want to have fun with my friend and family. I order my console wii at Amazon. I cannot wait to receive it. Do you have order yours or do have your console already?

You have summarised the Wii well. However, you can still have fun on your own with games like Call of Duty and Red Steel. The graphics are not stunnig, but they are acceptable.
That said the real fun is getting a group playing interactively. The get up and do part of the Wii is its attraction versus the sit down and move your fingers approach of the PS/3 and X Box. It is addictive and easy to use, even my 60+ mother gets going on the Wii, whereas any other platform she is not interested in at all.
Call of duty is better on Xbox360 . However I think the wii is the best console. Interactivity is the key. It brings the arcade sensation.
The wii is the console to have if you are not a hardcore gamer
