How does this work? Does it pull from google directly, or grab the date from the cache page view?

Makes me a little nervous is all.

Also, is there a way to have it processed on the fly, like look at the page that the script resides, and show the badge from that?

it takes it from google cache. yes you can copy the script and have it on your website too.. :-) hope I answer your question

you should wait up to 2 or 3 weeks make sure to submit your website to every search engine… bring traffic !!!.. msn and yahoo take over 1 month to index google take around 3 weeks to index a brand new website.
i hope i answer your question

Hello,
Last google access to my site was on 27th december.
That time i had just purchased the domain. It had a parking page.
Today is 6th of jan and still google bot has not crawled and it shows the old stats.
Please give suggestions. I launched the site on 4th of jan.
I submitted the sitemap. It has been detected and termed”OK”
My site is verified too.

Let me resume all this you bought your domain on 27th of December. Therefore, it takes up to 3 days just to be all around the internet. That leads us to the 30th. Until then your website was not ready yet. Therefore, if you launch your website on the fourth, it can take up to 2 weeks to be crawl correctly. Make sure you put the speed at the maximum in the option section.
I went to you website and I saw a strange thing.
googlea430d0183e68be7e Those link are not suppose to be on your webpage as a link.
If you have, more question feel free to ask

HI. Google bot has not scanned my website in a month! since nov 11 it says in my webmaster tools in my account. It is verified and everything. Any advice? I have added text to my page (there wasn’t any before, just headings and pictures). I was hoping when the search brings up my site now that my new text would show up but it still just shows my adds like before.

tara

thank you for your time.

Hi Tara

I made some test and verification. The last time Google scanned your website is 7 December 2007 17:36:41 GMT. When was your last website update (add text picture etc because there is a difference between what is in the Google data and your website right now)
You can check this number on my googlebot verification if you want. This is the official last visit. If you go to Google search engine and type http://awakendsurface.com/ in the result, you will see a blue link call cached. Click it and you will see Google last real visit.

Now you said, in your Google webmaster dashboard you saw 11 Nov! This is odd. Go to your tool section. Hit the robot.txt tab. tell me when was the last download of your robot.txt.
This might be the problem

I did the check.
http://awakendsurface.com/ Allowed
Detected as a directory; specific files may have different restrictions

It says the last download of robot.txt was one minute ago.

Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Nov 11, 2007.

We have no errors to report. We crawl regularly, so check back later to see updates.

Anyway. I last updated yesterday. I have been doing a little here and there for 3 days.

I appreciate your help :)

Hallo Blacksky,
Thanks for your fast reaction. I checked today again my last googlebot access and it always stays on 12 november 2007 (befor it was “n/a”)….OK.
But here comes….I checked today, 21 november my website status in http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and it said the same date, 12 november.
But as i check the last access for the robots.txt file, i see last access was already at 20 november!!!
And as I also check my cached files at google i can see that the googlebot was there in between!!!
So, who is this possible that the last googlebot access not doesn´t match with googlesearch and google content???
Thanks for answer. Greetings

Ok i think I should clear something up. robots.txt file collect information on a daily basis … Goolge use it to know what kind of keywords drive people to your website, what kind of links pointed to your website ect…

googlebot is another thing .. this robot scan you entire website once or twice a week and update google’s database each time you change something to be able to cached your website
example now
if someone type piano in google search engine and always get to your website and stay a long time the robot txt will tell google piano gets a better answer on your website because the robot txt collect the information. ( on a regular basis)
example 2 : imagine you change your title from apple to the best apple…. so when someone will search for your website he won’t see the change in the search results but only in your website.. the search engine will show the new title only if googlebot had scan your entire website.
but again this is not a rule because there is another bot that scan the entire internet everyday for new stuff
Seriously I think you should wait around 7 days and see.
You can always change the speed of googlebot if you want in the tools section . I put mine to the highest possible. that way i get more visit. (mine last visit is 15 November)
I hope this will help you ..feel free to ask anything :)

Hello, I think i need some help.
If i check the last Googlebot access for my website (i did it on different websites), i always get since a few weeks the result “n/a” (not availible?).
I started my site in the beginning this year and all went good. But suddenly on 12 november stopped all activity from googlebot.
So….what means n/a…and what goes wrong there? Of by my….?
Thank you very much for support.
Greetings from Netherland

Hi Martin
I check your website http://www.dekrachtbron.com/ and google last visit was on november 12. I think you can wait one week to see if there is no update. If you can’t figure out an answer maybe you should go back to google at http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and then click the link tools for webmasters. Make sure you have a green check beside verify….another factor can be the speed of indexation.. google let you choose what speed to choose .. I choose the highest speed .. so my last google visit is 15 of november..
I think there is no problem, everything seems to work well but you should check the website I show you above
If you have more question come back at me
