What I should do with all this information? Set up your advertise page

You run a poll or survey (I hope you did one); you check your post stats in order to know more about your readers. This is very important not only to set up your advertise page but to know what aspect of your work people like more( you better learn what people like or dislike if you want to grow in this blog world, trust me or you will sink). What kind of post makes a success? If you want to blow your buzz around the net, you must get that info. (When I first understand that, my numbers gets higher)

Your main goal is to sell your blog to advertisers so you have to show up your best asset.

Show your stat even if you think your numbers are low. (The price should match those numbers, of course).

Put the right number

Only put relevant numbers for your blog… pagerank or alexa numbers are not relevant numbers (a real advertiser already got this info but you can always put it if you want but you won’t impress anyone). You need more spicy numbers. For example: returning visitors, visit length, page view by user. On a large website those numbers are usually low so turn it to your advantage. (Use new weapons to beat the big ones)

Like I said, your goal is to attract this advertiser and make it feel, your blog is the right choice for a specific situation.

Example: you have a blog about making money online (over use subject). What kind of advertiser will like that website? The one who sell product or ad network etc… So a great idea I suggest to my friend was to run a survey about buying stuff online. To make this survey relevant, he gives prizes to get the most visitors possible to participate.( I found the Idea when Best buy run a survey)

He had these results: “95% of his regular visitors did the survey and 83% of them had already made a purchased online and 90% of them are ready to make more purchase online”. That was a killer sentence because he attracts so many advertisers. I guess you know why? Advertisers saw the potential of buyer on this blog.

Another big show was to add this sentence: “our regular or future visitors come here to find new and innovative programs, advices to make money online, they are curious and always want the best just like our blog. Participate in this perused of perfection.”

He kept it simple and direct… that’s the key I think…

Put the price or don’t put the price

I ask myself the question so many times so I put myself as an advertiser. I have two example the Shoemaker‘s blog or the Darren’s blog. In the shoemaker’s blog, he puts the price.

As an advertiser I can plan how much I will have to pay and adjust my budget to match this price. Basically I won’t contact him until I have the money ready.

In Darren’s blog, you can not see the price but only a minimum price. So if you want to know the price you must contact him. At this point I guess there is room for a real talk…

I will probably advertise on the blog with no price because this is the first one I will contact due to the fact I need to know the price for my own reflection. (of course all this may change if the price is way more then the first one).

Warning:

Direct sale is more effective if you do have a page rank and most important if you have reach and get less then 100,000 in alexa rank. Don’t try it if you don’t have those numbers, I already try and I only found one advertiser who buys it for $1 /month.
